Dry plum is an extremely useful nutrient used as food for a long time of population in our geographic area. Drying process keeps valuable nutrients in original form. Fully grown fruits are picked up manually and transported to drying factory in appropriate packaging. Production process starts by classification, separation and washing, followed by placing of plums to drying plates, then drying in the special drying equipment, under the controlled temperature and humidity. After drying, following process is extraction of seeds, classification by size and packaging. Dry plums keep all valuable vitamins and minerals during the drying process and present valuable source of energy in “small package”. Besides vitamins A and C and many phyto-chemicals, dry plums are also a source of vitamins B1, B2, B6, E, minerals like calcium, iron, potassium and fibers. Studies showed that in regular use of fresh and dry plums there is increased absorption of iron in the human body. This ability is associated to vitamin C that, together with iron, is present in the plum. Production process guarantees food safety of this product that can be stored for a long time without any additional requirements if packed in original package.

Apple chips –Apples are transported in special package to the factory for processing purposes. It is stored in cooling chambers in special conditions in order to preserve quality. Production process starts with classifying, washing, pilling of skin, extracting of seeds, cutting in chips shape of certain thickness, placing of chips on plates for drying and drying until certain moisture and expected characteristics are reached. After drying process is finished, the product is packed in specially designed package. Apple chips are interesting snack with one third of calories comparing to potato chips and much more vitamin C and fibers. Apples are rich in pectin, dissolvable fibers that prevent cholesterol in intestines and stimulate organism to use fat instead to store it.

Dried chestnut - Raw material is transported to the place of processing; it is sorted and stored in cooling chamber in special conditions in order to preserve quality from the start of the process. Sorted fruits are sank into water in order to clean it from forest micro flora and rinsed with clear water. Clean fruit shells are cut than placed on special grids and finally dried. After drying process shells are removed as well as cellulose skin. Dried fruits are inspected again, sorted and packed.
Chestnut is a fruit with high caloric value, very similar to grains especially when dried. It contains a lot of vitamins A, B and C, potassium, cupper, manganese, phosphor, sulphur and sodium. Chestnut is used for prevention of iron deficiency, physical and intellectual exhaustion, gives energetic support in growing period, it is recommended for recovering patients and persons who have hemorrhoids and problems with vascular system. It has antiseptic and anti anemic characteristics. It is a high energy fruit, regenerator of minerals and refreshes organism. Dry chestnut can be cocked, prepared as mashed chestnut, also it is possible to make flour of it and use it as bakery raw material.
Chestnut is a self-growing, forest tree, mainly present in northwest part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is estimated that with good organization is possible to collect up to 2,000 tons of raw chestnut. Purchase of raw material would be organized by organizing of ten purchase points and organizing collection by local population.
